Special class after an accident

Following an accident, you’ll be in the best hands with treatment in a private room during your hospital stay. Furthermore, you can extend this first-class care to outpatient treatments.

Prerequisite for the application

In addition to being a member of Global Mountain Rescue (GMR), the applicant must have permanent residence in Austria and be covered by Austrian social security.

For patients receiving special compensation after an accident, all affiliated hospitals in Austria and all public hospitals in Europe cover the full costs.

Here you will find the hospital directory for special post-accident compensation.

The offer is rounded out with easy and quick access to medical treatments, shorter waiting times thanks to alternatives to private doctors and hospitals, as well as cutting-edge treatment methods and the best care from trusted medical professionals.

Here you can find all the information about the special class benefits rate following an accident.

With this health insurance, you will receive a daily allowance if you waive your right to be admitted to a private room, as well as a daily allowance during rehabilitation and follow-up after an accident. In addition, transportation costs are covered, including additional rescue expenses and helicopter transport.

If the expenses are covered by mandatory health insurance, the difference is fully covered up to the maximum amounts stipulated in the policy; otherwise, up to 80% is covered (generally only for individual bills exceeding $11 after deductions for social security contributions) for medical treatments (conventional, holistic, and alternative medicine fees), doctor-recommended preventive checkups, outpatient surgeries, and special examinations. This also applies to health promotion measures (such as stress management, vaccinations, or nutritional counseling).

Here you can find complete information on the fee schedule for outpatient preventive care.
