One time payment for accidents 15 years
Accidental capital benefit
Did you know that mandatory accident insurance doesn’t cover the potential long-term consequences of a sports accident? With Global Mountain Rescue’s lifetime accident annuity, you’ll receive a lump sum payment in these cases.
Capital payment
For insured members up to 15 years old or from 74 years old onwards, GMR provides a one-time lump-sum payment instead of a monthly pension.
1. Insured members up to 15 years old
Persons in this age range receive a one-time lump-sum payment following a leisure accident resulting in a total physical disability of 50% or more, depending on the chosen fee:
- Annual fee of $11: Payment of $105,840
- Annual fee of $22: Payment of $211,680
- Annual fee of $33: Payment of $317,520
2. Insured members from 74 years old
Members who have reached the age of 74 will receive a one-time lump-sum payment following a leisure accident resulting in a total physical disability of 50% or more, under the following scheme:
- Annual fee of $11: Payment of $13,500
- Annual fee of $22: Payment of $27,000
- Annual fee of $33: Payment of $40,500
Duration
Regardless of the payment method chosen, insurance coverage for each individual member always begins the day after the insurer receives payment.
If an existing insurance period is still in effect at the time of payment, the new insurance coverage will begin on the first day after that period ends.
Safety during leisure time
Your insurance coverage applies to leisure accidents worldwide.
The insurance also covers climbing without restrictions on difficulty level, as well as high-altitude mountaineering without any altitude limit.
Work-related accidents and accidents occurring while participating in air sports, such as paragliding, are excluded. Further exclusions can be found in the general terms and conditions of the insurance.
Those who are members of the GMR during the current year and have paid their membership fee are eligible for coverage, regardless of their permanent place of residence.
These conditions also apply without payment of the GMR fee for “members exempt from membership fees” (children) who are registered with the GMR and therefore have their own membership number.
