Dog rescue

Your pet’s safety is as important to me as it is to you! This upgrade protects you from the financial consequences of an incident covered by Global Mountain Rescue, should you need a rescue and your beloved pet is left behind, or if your dog needs to be rescued in difficult terrain due to a serious injury or emergency—all for just $14 a year.

Your dog will be rescued

You don’t have to be the one who gets hurt; your dog could also find themselves in a difficult situation. Insurance coverage applies if your dog needs to be rescued due to a life-threatening injury or a difficult terrain emergency, even if no specific incident covered by Global Mountain Rescue has occurred.

Something happens to you and you need help. But your dog won’t be left behind. We’ll bring him back safe and sound too! Insurance coverage is included in the event of an incident covered by the GMR (Audit Service).

The costs of rescuing the dog will be reimbursed once it has been successfully rescued by the mountain rescue team, mountain patrol, or a similar association or organization. The maximum compensation is $3,518.55 per incident.

The dog is insured if it belongs to the ÖAV member who purchased this insurance. Canine rescue insurance is valid worldwide. A separate canine rescue insurance policy must be purchased for each dog.

The contract is valid for one year from the start date and is not automatically renewed.

The start and end dates, as well as proof of insurance coverage for each individual member, are shown on the corresponding membership confirmation.
