1. INTRODUCTION
Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C. is an international system oriented towards providing assistance, coordination, and financial protection related to search, rescue, and evacuation operations for individuals who find themselves in emergency situations during mountain activities, high-altitude mountaineering, trekking, expeditions, and other covered activities.
Acquiring the Mountain Rescue Card allows the holder to join the Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C. system and access corresponding benefits during the contracted validity period.
Membership, assistance services, and insurance coverage are related concepts, but are legally distinct.
The financial coverage of insurance shall be provided exclusively by the insurance entity expressly stated in the insurance policy or certificate.

The financial coverage of the insurance will be assumed exclusively by the insurance company indicated in the corresponding certificate or policy.

3. NATURE OF MEMBERSHIP
The Mountain Rescue Card constitutes an international membership associated with the Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C. system.
Membership may provide:
- Member identification
- System registration
- Access to assistance
- Emergency coordination
- Access to safety protocols
- Access to information
- Additional benefits
- And, where applicable, rescue insurance coverage
Membership should not be interpreted in itself as an insurance policy, unless the corresponding contract establishes otherwise.
4. PRICE
The final price will be the one displayed on the contracting page at the time of purchase.
Taxes, fees, bank charges, or additional costs, where applicable, must be shown to the client before confirming payment.
5. INSURED PERSON
Coverage corresponds exclusively to the person identified in the membership or insurance certificate.
The holder must provide truthful and up-to-date information.
Membership is personal and non-transferable.
Another person's card cannot be used to obtain coverage.
6. VALIDITY
The exact start and end dates will appear on the certificate sent to the client.
7. START OF COVERAGE
Coverage will begin on the date indicated in the certificate.
When the contract establishes that coverage begins after payment confirmation, there shall be no coverage for incidents occurring prior to that date.
Retroactive coverage will not be provided.
8. RENEWAL
Membership may be renewed annually.
Renewal will be subject to payment of the current fee and the renewal conditions established by Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C and/or the insurer.
The renewal price may be modified for future periods, following prior notice to the client in accordance with applicable legislation.
9. GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE
When the certificate indicates WORLDWIDE COVERAGE, coverage may apply internationally, subject to:
- Excluded countries
- International sanctions
- Legal restrictions
- Territorial exclusions
- Insurer conditions
- Availability of SAR services
Worldwide coverage does not mean that Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C can physically guarantee the availability of a rescue team anywhere on the planet.
10. COVERED ACTIVITIES
Coverage is primarily intended for recreational and sports mountain activities, including, when accepted by the policy:
- Trekking
- Hiking
- Mountaineering
- Alpinism
- Climbing
- Rock climbing
- Ice climbing
- Expeditions
- Traverses
- Glaciers
- Snow
- High-altitude activities
- Ski mountaineering
- Ski touring
- Ascents
- Activities in remote areas
Professional, commercial, or remunerated activities will be covered only when expressly established by the policy.
11. HIGH ALTITUDE
The product is designed for individuals engaging in activities in:
- Mountain ranges
- Glaciers
- Snow zones
- Rock faces
- Technical terrain
- Remote routes
- Hard-to-reach areas
- High-altitude areas
Specific coverage will depend on the policy conditions.
12. ALTITUDE
Search, rescue, evacuation, and high-altitude assistance coverage will be valid up to a maximum altitude of 7,300 meters above sea level (7,300 masl), provided that the activity, location, circumstances of the incident, and rescue procedure fall within the other conditions and exclusions established in the policy.
The ability to execute a rescue depends on:
- Weather
- Oxygen
- Wind
- Temperature
- Terrain characteristics
- Aircraft availability
- Safety
- Technical capacity
- Aeronautical authorization
13. SEARCH AND SAR
Coverage may include SEARCH AND RESCUE – SAR operations, intended to locate and assist an insured person in an emergency situation.
Intervening parties may include:
- SAR teams
- Rescuers
- Mountain guides
- Technical specialists
- Drone operators
- Localization equipment
- Medical teams
- Communications operators
- Vehicles
- Aircraft
- Helicopters
Expenses will be subject to the limit established in the policy.
14. MISSING PERSON
When an insured person cannot be located and reasonable circumstances indicate an emergency situation, a search operation may be activated.
The decision regarding the activation and scope of the operation will be adopted by the corresponding coordination center, taking into account:
- Available information
- Last known location
- Weather conditions
- Risk level
- Available resources
- Safety of the rescue team
15. UNSUCCESSFUL SEARCH
When contemplated by the policy, reasonable expenses of a search operation may be covered even when the person is not located.
Coverage will be limited to the insured sum.
16. TERRESTRIAL RESCUE
Operations may be covered for:
- Trail rescue
- Mountain rescue
- Glacier rescue
- Snow rescue
- Ice rescue
- Rock rescue
- Vertical rescue
- Crevasse rescue
- Avalanche rescue
- Technical rescue
- Stretcher evacuation
- Specialized ground transport
17. TECHNICAL RESCUE
May include operations requiring:
- Ropes
- Hauling systems
- Anchors
- Technical stretchers
- Ice equipment
- Climbing equipment
- Vertical progression equipment
- Localization equipment
- Communication equipment
- Specialized personnel
The availability of each resource will depend on the location of the incident.
18. HELICOPTER RESCUE
When necessary and operationally possible, a helicopter may be used. Expenses may be covered in accordance with the policy.
The flight will depend on:
- Weather
- Wind
- Visibility
- Altitude
- Autonomy
- Safety
- Availability
- Permits
- Aeronautical regulations
- Terrain characteristics
19. EVACUATION
Evacuation may be carried out via:
- Stretcher
- 4x4 vehicle
- Ambulance
- Specialized vehicle
- Helicopter
- Aircraft
- Other appropriate means
The means used will be determined according to the circumstances of the incident.
20. MEDICAL TRANSPORT
When the insured requires medical assistance, they may be transferred to the nearest appropriate medical center or hospital, in accordance with the policy.
Rescue coverage does not automatically equate to comprehensive international medical insurance.
21. RECOVERY OF DECEASED PERSONS
In the event of death during a covered activity, coverage may include:
- Localization
- Search
- Recovery
- Extraction
- Descent
- Transport
- Handover to competent authorities
International repatriation of the body will be included only when expressly stated in the policy.
22. REPATRIATION
International medical or funeral repatriation will be considered independent coverage. If included, the certificate must indicate:
- Limit
- Conditions
- Territory
- Procedure
- Provider
It should not be understood as automatically included within the USD 30,000 rescue limit.
23. COVERAGE LIMIT
All covered expenses arising from the same event may be accumulated for the purpose of the limit.
24. EXPENSES THAT MAY BE COVERED
Depending on the policy:
- Search
- SAR
- Rescue
- Technical rescue
- Evacuation
- Helicopter
- Vehicles
- Specialized equipment
- Rescue personnel
- Operational communications
- Recovery of deceased persons
- Transport to the location established by the policy
25. EXPENSES NOT RELATED TO RESCUE
The following do not automatically form part of the coverage:
- Hotels
- Meals
- Missed flights
- Cancelled vacations
- Luggage
- Sports equipment
- Cameras
- Telephones
- Personal items
- Fines
- Tourist expenses
- Companion expenses
26. OTHER INSURANCE
When the product is of a subsidiary nature, the insured must report other insurance that may cover the same event. These may include:
- Medical insurance
- Travel insurance
- Accident insurance
- Rescue insurance
- Social insurance
- Other policies
The insurer will determine the corresponding responsibility in accordance with the policy and applicable legislation.
27. PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Remunerated activities will not be automatically covered. This includes, among others:
- Professional guiding
- Instructor
- Professional photographer
- Professional expeditioner
- Mountain worker
- Commercial mountain activities
Professional coverage must be specifically contracted when appropriate.
28. COMPETITIONS
Sports competitions will be subject to particular conditions. Professional competitions or remunerated activities may be excluded.
29. MOTORSPORTS AND MOTORCYCLING
Motorsport or motorcycling competition activities may be excluded. This may include:
- Races
- Rallies
- Trials
- Training
- Qualifying
30. EXCLUSIONS
Unless the policy expressly establishes otherwise, the following may be excluded:
- Intentional acts.
- Fraud.
- False information.
- Criminal activities.
- War.
- Armed conflicts.
- Terrorism, when applicable.
- Expressly excluded activities.
- Professional competition.
- Undeclared professional activity.
- Competitive motorsports.
- Competitive motorcycling.
- Excluded aviation activities.
- Expenses exceeding the limit.
- Expenses unrelated to the event.
- Services provided free of charge.
- Any other risk expressly excluded by the insurer.
31. WAR AND CONFLICT SITUATIONS
Coverage for areas affected by war, armed conflict, invasion, severe civil unrest, terrorism, or international sanctions will be subject to the exclusions established by the insurer.
32. FREE SERVICES
When a rescue service is provided free of charge or must be provided free of charge in accordance with local legislation, there will not necessarily be a right to compensation for said service.
33. LIABILITY OF GLOBAL MOUNTAIN RESCUE
Global Mountain Rescue will coordinate and facilitate assistance within its capabilities and protocols. It does not guarantee that:
- A team is immediately available
- A helicopter is available
- Authorities authorize the rescue
- Weather conditions permit operation
- Rescue can be carried out by air
- Rescue is possible under any circumstance
The priority will always be the safety of the insured and the rescue personnel.
34. LIABILITY OF SAR OPERATORS
Rescue services may be performed by:
- Asociación Socorro Andino Peruano
- Local teams
- Authorities
- SAR services
- Helicopter operators
- Medical providers
- Associated rescue organizations
These operators may act as independent entities.
35. EMERGENCY ACTIVATION
In the event of an emergency, the insured must:
- Protect their life and that of their group.
- Contact local emergency services when necessary.
- Activate an available SOS device.
- Contact the Global Mountain Rescue assistance center when possible.
- Send GPS coordinates.
- Report on: number of people, injuries, altitude, weather, location, situation, and communication availability.
36. SOS DEVICES
The use of Garmin inReach, satellite phones, PLBs, GPS devices, radios, other SOS systems, or Starlink internet may facilitate the activation of a SAR operation. However, the automatic activation of an SOS does not in itself constitute automatic acceptance of coverage. Coverage will be determined in accordance with the policy.
37. OPERATIONS CENTER IN PERU
Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C may maintain an international coordination system for alert reception, initial assessment, localization, SAR coordination, communication with authorities, coordination with mountain teams, and incident monitoring.

38. PRIORITY IN AN EMERGENCY
When it is impossible to obtain prior authorization, rescue teams may act in accordance with their emergency protocols. Financial coverage will subsequently be evaluated in accordance with the policy.
39. OBLIGATIONS OF THE INSURED
The insured must:
- Provide truthful information
- Respect insurance conditions
- Respect exclusions
- Act reasonably to preserve their safety
- Follow the instructions of the rescuers
- Collaborate during the operation
- Report other insurance
- Keep documents
- Submit information regarding the incident
40. FRAUD
If the insured provides false information or attempts to obtain a benefit through fraud, coverage may be denied. The insurer may adopt the measures provided by applicable legislation.
41. CLAIMS PROCEDURE
After the operation, the following may be requested: membership certificate, policy number, identity document, SAR report, medical report, rescue invoice, receipts, photographs, GPS location, official documents, and information on other insurance.
42. DIRECT PAYMENT TO THE SAR OPERATOR
When authorized by the insurer, covered expenses may be paid directly to Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C, Asociación Socorro Andino Peruano, helicopter operator, medical provider, SAR team, or rescue organization. Direct payment will be subject to the policy limit.
43. PAYMENT BY THE INSURED
When the insured has directly paid for a covered operation, they may request reimbursement by submitting the required documentation. Reimbursement will be subject to coverage, limit, exclusions, documentation, and insurer approval.
44. CANCELLATION
The client may request cancellation in accordance with applicable legislation and policy conditions. Cancellation of membership does not automatically imply a refund of the premium.
45. REFUND POLICY
46. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL IN ONLINE PURCHASES
When consumer protection legislation grants a right of withdrawal for distance contracts, said right shall apply in accordance with legally established deadlines and conditions. When the client expressly requests that coverage begin before the end of the withdrawal period, the corresponding legal consequences shall apply.
47. RENEWAL
Renewal may be carried out via automatic renewal, manual renewal, or new annual payment, clearly indicated during contracting.
48. CHANGE OF DATA
The insured may request modifications to telephone, email, address, emergency contact, or other administrative data. Changes cannot be used to retroactively modify coverage.
49. TRANSFER OF MEMBERSHIP
Membership is personal. It may not be sold, assigned, or transferred to another person.
50. DATA PROTECTION
Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C may process the data necessary to create membership, issue certificates, manage payments, provide assistance, coordinate rescues, manage claims, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations, sharing it when necessary with the insurer, reinsurer, SAR teams, authorities, helicopter operators, medical centers, and assistance providers, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
51. EMERGENCY DATA
The insured may provide emergency contact information, travel group details, itinerary, mountain, route, date of activity, and SOS device details to facilitate a search and rescue operation.
52. DIGITAL CERTIFICATE
Upon completing payment, the client may receive their digital certificate containing their name, member number, certificate/policy number, dates, coverage, limit, and emergency information.
53. USE OF THE MOUNTAIN RESCUE CARD
The card identifies the member within the Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C. system. It does not replace a passport, identity document, medical insurance, mountain permit, park entry permit, climbing authorization, or other official documents.
54. MEDICAL COVERAGE
Rescue coverage should not be confused with international medical insurance. Expenses for medical consultations, hospitalization, surgery, medications, treatment, and prolonged medical care will only be covered if they form part of the corresponding policy.
55. TRAVEL INSURANCE
The Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C. product may be complemented by travel insurance. Travel insurance and rescue membership are different products, and each will have its own conditions, limits, and exclusions.
56. CLAIMS
Claims must be directed to info@gm-rescue.com. When a claim corresponds to an insurance coverage decision, it may be referred to the corresponding insurer.
57. INSURER
The company assuming the risk must be clearly identified prior to purchase (Name, Address, Country, Registration, Policy).
58. INSURANCE INTERMEDIATION
When Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C or a related entity acts solely as a marketer, promoter, or intermediary, its role must be clearly indicated. The entity assuming the insurance risk shall be the legally responsible insurer.
59. APPLICABLE LAW
The policy shall be subject to the legislation set forth in the insurance contract, observing mandatory consumer protection and insurance regulations applicable in each jurisdiction.
60. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Insurance claims will be handled in accordance with the insurer's procedure. Controversies regarding membership will be submitted to the mechanism established by Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C.
61. MODIFICATION OF CONDITIONS
Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C may modify membership conditions for future periods. Substantial modifications to insurance coverage must be approved and communicated by the insurer.
62. ELECTRONIC ACCEPTANCE
Before completing the purchase, the client must check an acceptance box (not pre-checked) relating to the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policies, Cancellation and Refund Policy, and policy conditions.
63. DOCUMENTS AVAILABLE PRIOR TO PAYMENT
Before purchasing, the client must be able to consult the Terms and Conditions, General and Particular Policy Conditions, Exclusions, Prices, Cancellation, Refund and Privacy Policies, Claims Procedure, Insurer Information, and Emergency Contacts.
64. CLIENT DECLARATION
Upon contracting, the client declares that they have read the conditions, understand the scope, exclusions, and limits, have provided truthful information, and accept the policies and conditions of the policy.

It does not constitute an insurance policy in itself, nor does it replace the general and particular conditions issued by an authorized insurer. No text on the website shall expand the coverage of the policy.

68. ASOCIACIÓN SOCORRO ANDINO PERUANO S.A.C.
Asociación Socorro Andino Peruano may participate in training activities, brigade member preparation, SAR coordination, mountain and technical rescue, emergency operations, and logistical support depending on location and available resources.
69. RESCUER SAFETY PRINCIPLE
No coverage obligates a SAR team to perform a maneuver that represents an unacceptable risk to the rescuers. The operational decision shall correspond to the operation leader or responsible SAR authority.
70. FINAL PROVISION
Global Mountain Rescue S.A.C aims to provide an international assistance and coordination structure for mountaineers, facilitating an organized response to emergency situations and financial protection through associated insurance.
